Lemonade with Fruit Ice Cubes

I love lemonade and would drink if every day if I could. But I am a little bit of a lemonade snob. I only like really good lemonade and fresh squeezed is at the top of the list of favorites.

The trick to homemade lemonade is the ration 1:1:3. One cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice, one cup of sugar, and 3 cups of water. And of course, you can add or subtract from each ingredient depending on how you like your lemonade. A little more sugar makes it sweeter, a little less sugar makes it more tart, etc.

The ice cubes are definitely what made the drink special. I filled ice cube trays with whole blueberries and strawberries cut in small pieces, covered with water, and placed in the freezer until frozen through.
And the best part is that once your ice cubes melt your lemonade gets some added flavors!

  1. That 1:1:3 ratio is good to know. I was never able to figure out the exact ratio. And freezing the berries in ice cube trays is a great idea. This looks delicious!
