Twinkie Parfait

What is more American than Twinkies? In celebration of America and the return on Twinkies on July 15th, I thought I would make this Twinkie Parfait. This is the perfect thing to take to a Fourth of July party because it is easy to make and is guaranteed to be a hit.

Here are a few tricks you might want to try while making that I think should have been done with mine. Frist, to show the Twinkies more place the broken pieces showing the cream closer to the edges. Second, make sure to fill the layers of pudding and Jello to the edges to avoid the drips into the other layers.

Enjoy!

Twinkie Parfait
1 (6 oz) package of blueberry Jello
1 (6 oz) package of strawberry Jello
3 cups boiling water
1 (12 oz) package frozen blueberries
1 (12 oz) package frozen strawberries
2 (5.2 oz) packages of vanilla pudding
6 cups whole milk
1 (12 oz) package whipped topping, thawed
1 box of Twinkies (10 cakes), broken into 1 inch pieces

  1. In a large bowl, mix 1 1/2 cups boiling water with blueberry Jello mix. Once completely dissolved, add frozen blueberries and let cool completely.
  2. In another large bowl, mix remaining 1 1/2 cups boiling water with strawberry Jello mix. Once dissolved add frozen strawberries and let cool completely.
  3. Mix pudding packages with milk and follow the instructions on the packages.
  4. In a glass parfait dish place 5 of the broken Twinkies. Pour half of the pudding over the Twinkies. Next pour the blueberry Jello mixture over the pudding. Place remaining Twinkies over the blueberry Jello and top with remaining pudding. Pour strawberry Jello on top.
  5. Place in refrigerator and chill until set, 1-2 hours. Top with whipped topping right before serving.
